-Commissions staff’ quarters, waiting hall, ambulance

The Chairman, Ikorodu North Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Ameen Olawale Apanisile, has commissioned staff quarters at Odo -Nla Primary Health Centre (PHC), Ikorodu North LCDA, brand new ambulance vehicle and waiting hall with an appeal to the health service providers to ensure that residents of his council receive adequate and professional care.
Hon Apanisile made the appeal on Tuesday while commissioning the health facilities as part of his administration’s achievements in 100 days as the Executive Chairman, Ikorodu North LCDA.
At the commissioning attended by HRM Oba David Raji, Eweye of Isiu, Prince Abiodun Ogunleye, former Deputy Governor, Rep. Babajimi Benson, representative Ikorodu Federal Constituency, Otunba Olasunkanmi Tijani, Chairman, APC, Ikorodu North LCDA, Prince Kunle Ogunbela, former Chairman, Ikorodu North LCDA, Omoba Hammed Aroyewun, Chairman, Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, and Hon. Sunday Benson Ayodele, Chairman, Imota LCDA, Mayor Muhydeen Sanwoola, Executive Assistant to the Governor among others.

The council chairman also provided 200 residents with Lagos Health Insurance Scheme.
Speaking at the commissioning, Apanisile told the Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Health District II, Dr Dayo Lajide that he has fulfilled his pledge to her in terms of staff quarters, ambulance and waiting hall and requested that health workers should give back to the people.
“The last time that you came, the Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Health District II, told me that she wanted staff quarters for our health staff and I promised that I was going to give you your staff quarters and today, you have it.

“I also promised that I would give you an ambulance, you also have that now. In addition, the waiting area that was also requested for has been completed. Please, use this facility very well and make sure that you give back to my people with the facilities that you now have,” Hon. Apanisile pleaded.
He also stated his efforts across other PHCs and emphasised that his administration has done a lot in the health sector.
“I have actually done a lot in the healthcare sector and I want them to give back to my people in terms of good health care,” he reiterated.

The Ikorodu North LCDA Chairman also listed free medical outreach and free medication for over 500 beneficiaries, ongoing construction of Olorunda PHC staff quarters and cervical screening and prostate cancer screening for over 200 beneficiaries.
In her remarks, Permanent Secretary, Dr Dayo Lajide, Lagos State Health District II (LSHDII) described the intervention of the charman as a significant milestone in achieving good healthcare delivery for people.
“Today marks a significant milestone in our collective journey toward strengthening primary healthcare and advancing the wellbeing of this community. I acknowledge and deeply appreciate the leadership and visionary commitment of the Executive Chairman. Your continued collaboration with the Health District in enhancing community health and increasing the utilisation of our Primary Healthcare Centres, is highly commendable.

“About two months ago, a medical outreach was conducted at Losi-Oba PHC- a demonstration of your dedication to improving the lives of our people.
She said that the new staff quarters and ambulance would bring about efficiency in service delivery and further commended him for aligning with the state government’s agenda in improving health service.
“Sir, your investment in both infrastructure and emergency response systems continues to uplift the health sector in tangible and sustainable ways. The newly constructed Staff Quarters will greatly improve the welfare, retention, and efficiency of our health workers, thereby strengthening 24-hour service delivery in this community.

“Likewise, the Ambulance will provide a significant boost to emergency response and referral services. It will ensure that timely, life-saving interventions remain accessible.
“Your effort aligns with the State Government’s vision of building a resilient, efficient, and people- centred health system—one that leaves no resident behind.
“As we commission these laudable projects, I encourage our healthcare workers to remain committed to excellence in service delivery. Let us ensure that these facilities are properly maintained and judiciously utilised for the benefit of every resident of this community.”
